L-OEH is a mythical art being that inhabits my house - her giant grinning face can be seen gazing out from my front porch. After L-OEH was installed on my front porch, it became clear that she needed a hand that was “coming through the earth” and popping out on the front yard (yeah!). Since L-OEH is a “being”, she’s not tied to competition or fears based on culture or race – her hand represents acceptance and cooperation. I created L-OEH’s Hand to be a free-standing sculpture so she could pop out anywhere that the whim takes her.
